Is Your House Stable Enough to Survive Calamity?

When a magnitude 9 earthquake hit Japan on March 11, 2011, very tall buildings trembled and swayed with the tremors. Surprisingly, they remained standing. Japan is one of the most earthquake prone countries in the world, and rather than ignore that fact, the land of the rising sun dealt with it. They built earthquake proof buildings and houses and thrived. But how about places that are prone to hurricanes?
